Scindia School Police claim to have found a diary belonging to the 14-year-old student who attempted suicide after he was allegedly ragged by his seniors at the prestigious Scindia School in Gwalior.
Police said the last entry made by the student, who is currently battling for his life in a hospital in Delhi, read: "I quit."
What happened in the school in Gwalior?
The victim, son of a minister in Bihar, was found in a semi-conscious state in his hostel room on August 20. He was taken to a private hospital in Gwalior for treatment and was later shifted to New Delhi's Apollo Hospital when his condition deteriorated.
Cops investigating the case also said circumstantial evidence suggests the boy tried to kill himself and that there was a delay by school authorities in informing the police about the incident.
The police on Tuesday arrested the three students and two staff members of the prestigious school named in the FIR. All five of them were later granted bail.
What are the boys at Scindia School accused of?
The three boys are accused of forcing the boy to sweep the floor and punishing him physically. They also allegedly beat him up, police said.
The school on Tuesday said it has expelled the accused students and debarred the two staffers from duty.
