Patna: RJD chief Lalu Yadav and JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar, coming together after a gap of two decades to contest elections in Bihar jointly, holding a second rally in Chhapra on Sunday took a dig at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) saying that they have allied to fight against the 'rumour spreading society'.

Compared to the first rally in Hajipur last week, the Chhapra rally saw an increased crowd where the two leaders launched an attack directed at the Bhartiya Janata Party as well as on the RSS.

Urging the party workers, Nitish said told them to work hard till the elections, adding that they have allied with the RJD after 20 years against the rumour spreading society.

Lalu also attacked the BJP saying that party had hijacked Nitish Kumar when JD(U) and BJP were allies. “It was never Nitish who went to the BJP, but was hijacked by the party,” Lalu said while adding that the JD(U) supremo is like his younger brother.

Nitish on the other hand congratulated Lalu for selecting good candidates to contest for the upcoming by-polls in Bihar for 10 seats on August 21.

After Nitish parted way with the BJP and suffered defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, JD(U) and RJD announced their alliance and declared that both will jointly contest the upcoming by-polls and the state Assembly elections next year.

The August 21 Assembly by-polls will be held in Hajipur, Chapra, Mohiuddinagar, Narkatiyaganj, Mohania, Jale, Bhagalpur, Banka, Rajnagar and Parbatta.
