New Delhi: Chinese troops have intruded 500 metres into the Indian territory in Demchok in Ladakh and have even put up their tents on the Indian side of the border , as per reports.
The blatant intrusion into the Indian side of the border by the Chinese troops was reported on September 11 and 70 Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel have been deployed to check them.
ITBP reported that 30 People's Liberation Army (PLA) personnel have intruded into Demchok.
Last month too, Chinese troops had intruded into 25 km of Indian territory in the Burtse area in Ladakh, which is at an altitude of 17,000 feet.
In this year alone, 334 incidents of intrusion by the Chinese troops have come to light.
The intrusion comes in the backdrop of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India. The Chinese premier during his visit to India is expected to sign a number of MoUs with the Indian leadership.
