A 45-year-old drunk British national created ruckus at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi early on Saturday morning.
The transit passenger was supposed to board a flight to Tokyo but he sent security personnel in a tizzy when he broke a fire alarm box at the airport. According to a Central Industrial Security Force official, the man, identified as Daniel, arrived at Terminal 3 from London. Later, he had alcohol at the airport and left a visitor's lounge around 4:15 am in an inebriated condition. Around 4:30 am, he broke a fire alarm pull box and subsequently set fire alarm ringing, which forced emergency gates-that lead towards the runway-to open but he was caught before he could venture out. No formal case or complaint has been registered against the passenger but British Embassy officials have been informed. Daniel was allowed to board a flight to Tokyo on Saturday evening after the effect of alcohol had waned.
