Youth Congress protest against Modi govt turns violent - Times of India

NEW DELHI: A group of youth Congress activists clashed with the police after they tried to march towards the Prime Minister's residence from Jantar Mantar on Thursday afternoon.

The protest led by Harsh Vardhan Shyam, general secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, staged a demonstration at around 12 noon and later tried to get across the barricades to march to the PM's house.

Senior police officials said that they were stopped near the Parliament Street police station from where they courted arrest. Police said that a few hundred activists were detained for few hours. They said that no one was injured in the incident.

The youth Congress was protesting against the alleged misrule of the NDA government and its failure to keep to its pre-poll promises.
