Watch: Woman catcalled 108 times as she walks around New York - Telegraph.co.uk

His video showed Roberts received endless harassment from men on the streets, including one man even walking alongside her for four straight minutes.

Another man was infuriated by Roberts’ silence, and yelled out to her: “Somebody’s acknowledging you for being beautiful.

“You should say thank you more.”

Roberts also received “countless winks and whistles” which were not included in the count of 108.

Hollaback! has since tweeted that Roberts has received rape threats on YouTube comments after the clip went viral on Tuesday.

Hollaback! deputy director Debjani Roy told Newsday: "Our community is reporting the threats on YouTube and they're being deleted."

The aim of the video was to show the extent of street harassment against women and to show that it should not be tolerated.

It was made by Rob Bliss, who was inspired by the experiences of his girlfriend, who is regularly street harassed.
