Jharkhand polls: At 44%, Ranchi sees lowest voting in state - Economic Times

RANCHI: Braving the winter cold, people turned up in good numbers to cast their ballot in the third of the five-phase assembly polls in Jharkhand.

Around 61% voting was recorded when voting ended at 5 pm for three seats - Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke. Balloting ended at 3 pm in 14 constituencies. Long queues of voters, including first-timers, were seen at polling booths.


The voter turnout in urban areas was good. Silli saw the highest polling at 74.77% while the lowest turnout was in Ranchi at 44.44%. The fate of 289 candidates were sealed in the third phase.
