President Pranab Mukherjee was discharged on Friday from Army Research & Referral (R&R) hospital following a coronary angioplasty on December 13.
A coronary angioplasty is a procedure used to open blocked or narrowed arteries in the heart. He was admitted to R&R with a complaint of stomach problems on Saturday.
He was found to have a blocked artery, which was opened using a coronary stent. Army doctors recommended he stay in hospital till he fully recovered.
According to hospital sources, Mukherjee, 79, was discharged after he showed signs of improvement.
