Services at Ojhar Airport Will Start Within a Month: Fadnavis - The New Indian Express

NASHIK: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Air services at the newly developed Ojhar airport will commence within a month.

The airport has been developed by the state government and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and was inaugurated in February this year but operations are yet to start due to property related issues.

Constructed in the HAL premises, the runway has been developed by HAL while the state government has constructed the passenger terminals at a total cost of Rs 84 crore.

"I have discussed the issues of Nashik airport with the Defence Minister and they have been resolved. Operations will start within a month," Fadnavis said here yesterday at a function.

Speaking on Kumbh mela 2015, Fadnavis said it will be celebrated with gaiety and has chaired two meetings of state apex body formed for the mela.

"I will come back to Nashik to discuss about the preparations," he said.

Kumbh mela, the largest religious congregation of Hindu pilgrims, will begin in Nashik next year in July.

State Water Resources minister Girish Mahajan has been given the charge to monitor the preparations of the mega event.
