Parliamentarian Sakshi Maharaj triggered yet another controversy by suggesting that each Hindu should have at least five children if they really want to save the country's future.
Addressing the gathering of saints in second 'Sant Samagam' in Meerut on Tuesday evening, the MP said government earlier gave the slogan of 'small family, happy family' which was followed by 'We two, Our two' and people ( Hindus) obeyed the slogans. Thereafter came another government slogan " Beta Beti Ek Samaan, Hum Do Hamare Ek' which people ( Hindus) began following. Without naming Muslims he said while others ( Muslims) are still maintaining their old perception of big families. Now the situation has arrived at alarming stage hence I advise Hindus to plan at least five children in their families.
Targeting a perticular community he said "Now good days have come. We would no more allow four wives and forty children in the country". He also said 'those who are involved in cow slaughtering would be given capital punishment.
Speaking on the issue of conversion he said neither he nor party is in favour of it and suggested that a special law should be enacted against conversion. He, however, defended the issue of ghar wapsi and questioned 'what is wrong in it.' "It is a good work. Maharshi Dayanand was the first person who facilitated ghar wapsi. The process of ghar wapsi and purification existed in past and it will go on," he asserted.
Sadhvi Prachi and other saints also addressed the gathering and called upon Hindus to unite for their better future.
