Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha put himself in a spot when he used a Hindi cuss word while speaking to the media in Ranchi.
Sinha got angry when reporters asked him if he was going to be the next chief ministerial candidate for the Jharkhand Assembly polls. ANI quoted Sinha as saying, "Media forces the mike on our faces asking who the next chief minister would be. Any ch**** can become a CM."
The senior leader's surprising use of bad language in public is seen as a manifestation of his pique over the reluctance of the BJP leadership to nominate him as their spearhead in Jharkhand, where assembly elections are due this year, reported NDTV.
Sinha and 54 of his supporters were sent to 14 days' judicial custody on 3 June after their arrest the day before for allegedly assaulting and tying up general manager of Hazaribagh branch of Jharkhand State Electricity Board, Dhanesh Jha during BJP's demonstration in protest against electricity crisis.
It was also reported that Sinha had not accepted BJP President and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s appeal through party leaders Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Shahnawaz Hussain urging him to come out of jail.
