Sensex slips over 400 points, Nifty below 7800: top 20 stock bets - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Sensex fell below 26,000 and was trading near the day's low point led by heavy selling pressure visible in the heavyweight stocks such as Reliance Industries, HDFC, Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra and State Bank of India. Weak opening by the European markets also added to the selling pressure in the last hour of trade.

Tracking momentum, the 50-share Nifty slipped below crucial psychological support of 7,800 weighed down by losses in consumer durables, metal, power and oil & gas stocks.

At 3:17 p.m. the Sensex was at 25,943 down 405.70 or 1.5 per cent. It touched high of 26,462.08 and low of 25,941 in trade so far.

The Nifty was 7,733.40, down 130 points or 1.66 per cent. It touched low of 7,731 and high of 7,893.
