After a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, CM Manohar Lal Khattar said the decisions belong to 23 departments and their officials had been asked to submit reports within 15 days enabling the government to take a call on those announcements in the next meeting. "There were few more decisions which were taken at the level of departments. These will be now decided at the level of ministers concerned after reviewing the same," Khattar added.
Ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, Hooda had made various announcements to stave off anti-incumbency during the polls. Hooda had held nine cabinet meetings from May 14 to August 17 to announce bonanza for employees, business community, defence fraternity, teachers, property owners and others to appease all sections ahead of the polls.
Such announcements included constitution of a separate body for the management of Sikh shrines in the state, exemption in toll tax rates, regularization policy for ad hoc and temporary employees, employment scheme for kin of martyrs and others.
To woo more than 3.5 lakh state employees, Hooda government had announced to increase the retirement age to 60 years from 58. Continuing with its announcements of sops ahead of the assembly polls, the Congress government on August 25 decided to grant pays to its employees and pension on the Punjab pattern with effect from November 1.
