Who's funding Cong, BJP, questions AAP; Fund-Raiser Lunch For Delhi Poll - Times of India

LUCKNOW: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday dared Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress to make public names of their donors. "The two parties must tell the nation whether their funding is coming from Dawood (Ibrahim) or some terrorist or corporate or commoners," he said, talking to media persons here at the party's fund raiser, Rs 11,000 per plate lunch for Delhi assembly election campaign.

Emphasising that only transparent political funding can remove corruption, Sisodia said, "Nearly 80% of the funding of major political parties, including BJP and Congress comes from unknown sources but they raising questions at AAP's fund raising activities. "I challenge all parties to come on a platform and make public their receipts and expenses," he said.

Sisodia also claimed that earlier, parties used to purchase votes through money and liquor, but now media has become a medium to buy votes. "An auto driver in Delhi told my friend that poor are often blamed for voting by taking money and liquor but now privileged class is selling its vote under media's influence," he said.

AAP's UP in charge Sanjay Singh accused BJP and Congress of misleading nation in the name of bringing black money stashed abroad back. "Kaale mann wale, kaale dhann nahi laa sakte (black hearted people cannot bring back black money)," he said and claimed, "It is clear now that one of the black money account holders had donated to both BJP and Congress."

BJP, said Singh, is playing dangerous communal politics in the name of 'Love Jehad' and religious conversion and its leaders are shamefully describing Mahatma Gandhi's assassin as patriot. Both leaders claimed AAP will form next government in Delhi by winning more than 50 seats.
