Jammu, February 28, (Scoop News)-Jammu Pradesh United Front has given a call for Jammu Bandh on March 1, 2015 in protest against the formation of BJP-PDP alliance Govt, calling it a Betrayal and Sell Out of mandate of the people of Jammu. The BJP had promised many things besides a Chief Minister from Jammu region, but has succumbed to the PDPs pressure tactics for the sake of power.
In a press conference held here today, JPUF Convenor Balwant Singh Mankotia(Ex-MLA) said that It is a matter of shock top all of us, an alliance between BJP and PDP has been finalized on an agenda which seems to be betrayal of people of Jammu. A fraud is being perpetuated in which everything which people of Jammu hold sacrosanct is being hostaged to a party which has been advocating shared sovereignty and joint management of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan.
It is an irony that a party which claims the legacy of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has betrayed everything for which the Great soul of India laid down his life. Very soon BJP MLA and ministers will be moving in official vehicles have Two Flags which will be a burial to the concept of One Nation, One Flag. He said that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has been buried to the annals of history and it is final adieu of the Deception master and pseudo-Nationalist BJP to the core ideology of erstwhile Jana Sangh.
Mankotia said that pseudo-nationalist BJP has been befooling the people of Jammu and its leaders have been hob-nobbing with the enemies of Jammu as was exposed by then Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at a function at Jammu Club.
Now new set of traitors has been introduced by BJP/RSS combine to befool the peoople of Jammu.
While PDP has enunciated its agenda very clearly, BJP has chosen to remain silent and resorted to a game of deception where even common minimum programme for which it is aligning with PDP has been kept under the curtains.
PDP patron has selectively leaked its agenda during the talks of PDP-BJP for CMP framing claiming it clings to its manifesto to pursue 'Self Rule' as framework for resolution of Kashmir, removal of AFSPA.
"The special status enshrined in Article 370 (of Constitution) is required to empower the people of Jammu and Kashmir and help deal with the issues of identity, borders and governance."
The party has said the self rule document will be the guiding framework for resolution which included closer ties across the Line of Control, making borders irrelevant and complete connectivity between various parts of the state.
The PDP has also included its earlier agenda of setting up joint coordination mechanism for projects across the Line of Control and joint regulatory commission on trade and tariffs.
BJP has, however, not stuck to any of its demands and core ideologies, thus selling out the interests of people of Jammu.
BJP in its “Vision Document†has promised
The BJP has promised to initiate justice and honourable re-settlement of the displaced Kashmiri pundits. The BJP said if voted to power the party would settle the genuine claims of 1947 refugees from PoK, give compensation to refugees of 1965 and 1971 and all boarder migrants. For refugees from West Pakistan, the BJP has promised to grant citizenship rights, including the Right to vote in Assembly and local body elections, Right to property, Right to higher and technical education and Right to State Government jobs. BJP promised to reserve three seats for displaced Kashmiris out of the 46 Assembly seats earmarked for Kashmir valley in the State Assembly.
Similarly, the party has promised to reserve five seats for refugees from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) out of the 24 seats left vacant for the PoK.
But nothing of the sort has been reflected in what has been leaked by PDP on the framing of CMP, Mankotia said.
