It was a rare moment, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi shook hands with ally-turned-rival Nitish Kumar at the wedding reception of Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter with Mulayam Singh Yadav grandnephew in New Delhi on Thursday.

If sources are to be believed, Modi even had a brief chat with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Leaders cutting across party line were at the ceremony which marked the union of the country's two foremost backward leaders and regional satraps.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi were among a host of political leaders, who attended the wedding ceremony of Tej Pratap Singh Yadav and Raj Laxmi. President Pranab Mukherjee was also present to grace the occassion.
