"By late Monday, all those remaining Indians stuck in Yemen will be evacuated without anyone getting hurt. The rescued are taken onboard INS Sumitra and INS Mumbai. They disembark at Djibouti, from where the IAF aircraft and Air India flights will take off with them," said the minister on Monday.
Parrikar lauded the efforts of the Indian Navy personnel.
So far, Indian Navy personnel have successfully evacuated over 2,500 Indians and many foreign nationals to Djibouti. On Monday, INS Mumbai evacuated 474 Indians—including 389 men, 63 women and 22 children— from the Al Hodeidah Port on the west coast of Yemen. From there, they were taken to Djibouti. Another Navy patrolling vessel, INS Sumitra, arrived at Djibouti with 203 Indians from Ash Shihr port, 25 km from Al Mukallah port. The rescued Indians will reach India on Tuesday. One more vessel, INS Tarkash, has left from Djibouti for the Al Hodeidah Port to continue the rescue Operation Raahat.
The most affected area is Sana'a and the Indian authorities are doing their best to get the Indian nationals to the port.
