Ranji teammate approached the RR player with an offer of money if he followed a pre-decided pattern of play in the eighth season of the cash-rich Twenty20 league.

The incident happened last month, and the RR player informed a senior franchise official who reported the incident to the Anti-Corruption & Security Unit (ACSU).

The said RR player also informed the ACSU that the player who made the offer shared dressing room with him during the Ranji Trophy. The player who made the fixing offer is not part of the IPL 2015 season.

Last year, three Rajasthan Royals players - S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan - were arrested by police on the charges of spot-fixing.

The scandal also saw the Supreme Court force the then BCCI president N Srinivasan to step down from his role after his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was found guilty of betting.
