NEW DELHI: Terming Rahul Gandhi’s ‘rare speech’ in the Lok Sabha good, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Monday said that her party would continue to raise farmers’ issues, both inside and outside Parliament.
Meanwhile, Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge demanded that the Centre refer the Land Bill to the Standing Committee, hinting that his party was ready for a prolonged battle with the Union Government in this regard.
“I was told by people that it was good...I did not hear the full speech of Rahul as I was busy meeting party leaders and farmers at my residence,” she said. She termed Rahul’s return after the 56-day sabbatical ‘good.’
She also met party leaders and farmers from Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab, a day after the Congress organised a farmers’ rally against the Centre over Land Bill.
