UP can lead by example: Akhilesh - Times of India

LUCKNOW: Engaging with officials of the industry body Assocham on Monday, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav asked for fresh feedback on ways to improve industrial policies and said UP could set an example for others to follow.

Meeting with Assocham on Monday for the official release of the officially chamber's report 'UP: Inching towards double digit growth', Akhilesh also said investors who were shy of setting up shop in UP were now looking forward to doing business in the state.


According to the Assocham report, UP attracted an investment of Rs 6.9 lakh crore in the last two years, while an additional sum of Rs 2 to 3 lakh crore is expected to come into UP by the end of the current fiscal.


Assocham chairman Lalit Khaitan said that UP has made several remarkable achievements on the development front that have been highlighted in studies conducted by various independent agencies and the industry body. General secretary, Assocham, DS Rawat said studies showed UP had made considerable progress in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, construction, small industries, power, education, health and realty. He also said it is the best time for UP to attract investments from China, especially because the Chinese Ambassador has recently shown interest in investing in UP.
