Rahul attacks Modi, says Adani richer, farmers poorer - Times of India

BEMETARA: Sharpening his attack against BJP's PM pick, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the self-proclaimed "chowkidar" had sold 1000 acres of land of farmers' land to an industrial group in Gujarat at a throwaway price.

"Farmers' land was given away to Adanis in Gujarat," he reiterated his charge against Narendra Modi, saying BJP was only protecting the interests of a select few at the cost of poor and farmers.

Rahul promised the poor that UPA-III will provide them free housing and medical facilities if it returns to power. "When we form government at the Centre, we will provide you free houses and medical facilities," Gandhi said at an election rally in Durg Lok Sabha constituency.

Gandhi trashed BJP's development claims, saying that UPA registered a better growth rate than the BJP-led NDA government.

"We built three times more roads than NDA government. We provided more power and our growth rate was better than the NDA government," Gandhi said.
