Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor participated in AIB Knockout on December 20. The ‘roast’ was released online last week and it quickly went viral. While some called them a great sport for taking on the rudest, most offensive remarks, some did not seem to be happy about it. MLA Krishna Hegde has slammed the two actors along with filmmaker Karan Johar, who was the roast master.
He said, “AIB knockout (All India Bakchod) as they call it is totally gross. Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in the name of charity have dished out filth and totally abusive content. These are so called role models of millions. In the guise of western culture these people have stooped to a ridiculous low.”
“Abusing, homosexual actions and filth is not freedom of expression. They can be real role models if they take up other real issues like saving the environment, cleanliness, etc,” Hegde added.
A written complaint has also been filed against the three celebrities and the show organisers by Akhilesh Tiwari, President of Brahman Ekta Seva Sanstha, at the Sakinaka police station, on Monday. He said that the show was extremely abusive and is not only ruining the clean image of the Indian culture and women, but is also misleading today's youth.
The police are now looking into the matter and will initiate an action once they reach a conclusion.
