Dr Vipin Mittal told TOI that the AAP chief has been suffering from high fever and chronic cough since February 5, which has now aggravated. Moreover, his blood sugar level has also shot up, the doctor said, adding he has been advised rest and a restricted diet.
"On Thursday, Kejriwal ran a body temperature of 101 degrees Fahrenheit, while his blood sugar levels shot up to 170. We have given him insulin shots, along with oral medicines, to control blood sugar levels. He has also been advised rest," Dr Mittal said.
According to the doctor, the AAP chief has to do regular exercises to control his blood sugar levels. "Only by doing regular exercises, he can stay physically fit. But it is difficult for him as he is surrounded by supporters from early in the morning till late night," said Dr Mittal, who has been treating him since 1995.
"Kejriwal's cough is allergic in nature hence there is no permanent cure. He has to take care of himself. He has refused to take medicines, but he has been advised to take at least Crocin tablets," he said.
