7.25 a.m.: Earlier, more than Rs. 48 lakh was seized in Srirangam from various vehicles ahead of the by-poll. “During inspection by various squads, 17,250 vehicles have been checked and a sum of Rs. 48,76,500 seized so far,” a release from the office of Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer, Sandeep Saxena, said.
