The child rights activist was interacting with hundreds of students, who are part of Lead Prayana at Deshpande Foundation, here.
Satyarthi explained the 3D formula: First 'D' is to dream big. He asked students to dream for their own good and for the country's progress. Second 'D' is to discover opportunities and realize their potential. He asked students to cultivate the habit of questioning to discover things, and said they must also learn to convert opportunities or problems into challenges. Third 'D' is to 'do' — carry out the task on hand without losing time. "If you transform yourself, then the whole world transforms," he said.
Shedding light on his tryst with change, the activist said: "Since I was an engineering student, I used to work on transformers, basics of which led me to think of social transformation. Society must be transformed as it has gaps, vacuum and issues."
He advised students to learn qualities like simplicity, transparency, creativity and emotion by discovering the child in them. "Connecting with children makes you learn so many things. I learnt simplicity, forgiveness and emotions from children."
