Salman Khan has just been awarded a breather of about a week in the 1998 Arms Act case. Khan was accused of possessing and using illegal arms to hunt the endangered black buck, and the verdict in the case, which was to be delivered today, has now been pushed to March 3, 2015. As far as this Khan is concerned, there's hardly a film of the actor's that doesn't shoot past the 100 crore mark at the Box Office. Several films which the actor has been a part are parts of the coveted 200 and 300 crore clubs, too.
In the hypothetical scenario that Salman Khan were indeed to go to jail, a lot of money and many projects in Bollywood would suffer the insufferable fate - that of uncertainty. There are several big banner films in which Salman is playing a lead role, and if the verdict in the Arms Act case doesn't turn out in favour of the actor and he were to go to jail, Bollywood might have to deal with some terrible amount of losses. We take a look at the films that the actor is either shooting or has been roped in for.
Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Salman is currently in Rajkot, Gujarat, for the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The film will mark the actor's re-union with his Hum Saath Saath Hai director, and it has had its share of hype even while the film is yet to be completed.
Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan
The other Salman Khan film that is currently in the post-production stage is director Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The Kabir-Salman duo's last project together was the film Ek Tha Tiger, and despite heavily mixed reviews, the critic-proofness that casting Salman Khan in a film ensures one, resulted in it too raking in the moolah. If early indications are to go by, Bajrangi Bhaijaan could at least make a business of 100 crores.
Sequels to three films
Salman Khan's Bollywood journey henceforth has three sequels, too, in the offing. Salman has apparently given a nod to the 2005 blockbuster No Entry sequel, titled No Entry Mein Entry. Apart from that, a sequel to Kick, and the third in the Dabangg series, too, are reportedly looking at the actor's presence.
Karan Johar's Shuddhi
In addition to the aforementioned films, Salman Khan is also said to be a part of the delayed Karan Johar project, Shuddhi.
With these many films and several hundred crores riding on Salman, a jail sentence for the actor would not really be welcome for producers. Khan's industry colleague, Sanjay Dutt has been in prison for a while now, and several films have had to be either shelved or postponed, due to the same. Producers, according to trade pundit Komal Nahta, are tense about the March 3 verdict, and Khan has the option to further appeal his case.
