Sensex hits 30000-mark in a first; top 20 intraday trading ideas - Economic Times

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Sensex pared some gains after rallying as much as 434 points in trade on Wednesday to hit its fresh record highs above its psychological level of 30,000 for the first time ever.

Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index also pared gains from its record high level of 9119.20. The rally in the index was led by gains in rate sensitive stocks such as banks, realty, autos and capital goods.

Sensex at 29,790.01; up 196.28 points. The Nifty was at 9,043.65; up 47.40 points.

Top gainers on Sensex: SUN PHARMA (8.2%), ITC (2.2%), BHARTI AIRTEL (2.1%), HDFC (2.1%), ICICI BANK (1.9%)

Top losers: HINDALCO (-3.2%), TATA POWER (-1.6%), WIPRO (-1.5%), AXIS BANK (-1.4%), COAL INDIA (-1.3%)

Sensex was at 29,807.93; up 214.20 points. The Nifty was at 9,051.35; up 55.10 points.
