New Delhi, March 28 (PTI): The Centre has prorogued the Rajya Sabha to make way for the re-promulgation of the land acquisition ordinance.
A statement from the Rajya Sabha secretariat said President Pranab Mukherjee has prorogued the 234th session of the upper House.
The government has failed to get the bill passed in the Rajya Sabha, where it lacks majority. The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in the first half of the budget session.
