HYDERABAD: Britney's Spears' song "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman" best describes the situation that Narendra Modi is in.

Narendra Modi is Prime Minister-elect and not Prime Minister yet, so cannot tweet from the PMOIndia twitter handle as yet. But surely, the tech-savvy Modi could have made immediate changes to his personal twitter handle @narendramodi to reflect his position now.

Modi is prime minister-designate and not just NDA's prime ministerial candidate anymore as he still describes himself on his twitter handle. Modi became PM-elect on Tuesday itself with the BJP parliamentary party choosing him as its leader.

Since he has not been sworn in Prime Minister as yet, there is no tweet as yet on the new PMOIndia twitter handle though there are 15.53 followers already for that.

As Prime Minister, Modi's predecessor Manmohan Singh had 1.24 M followers compared to @narendramodi which has 4.26 M followers.

And it is on his personal twitter handle that Narendra Modi is still in touch with the world informing people about which world leader called him and who he has spoken to.

The Prime Minister-designate cannot immediately shift to the PMOIndia twitter handle as he is to take oath only on May 26. Ideally the first tweet on it would have been to inform of Narendra Modi's date of taking oath as Prime Minister. This has not been done and there is not a single tweet. In fact, Narendra Modi himself is yet to tweet about the date of his taking oath.
