Tracking the momentum, the 50-share Nifty index plunged below its crucial psychological level of 6700, weighed down by losses in metal, IT, banks and realty stocks.
At 12:25 a.m.; the 50-share index was trading at 6679.90, down 35.40 points or 0.53 per cent. It touched a high of 6,718.75 and a low of 6672.25 in early trade today.
The S&P BSE Sensex was trading at 22392.67, down 110.46 points or 0.50 per cent. It touched a high of 22,532.82 and a low of 22365.36 in trade today.
