Spill at Tamil Nadu's Kudankulam nuclear plant injures six workers - Times of India

KUDANKULAM: Six employees at the Kudankulam nuclear power plant here sustained injuries on Wednesday following 'hot water spillage'.

"There was a small incident. Some maintenance work was going on when there was hot water spillage. Three of our employees and three contract workers suffered injuries," KKNPP director R S Sundar said.

The injured were administered first aid and later admitted to hospital, he said, adding, there was "nothing to worry" about today's incident.

The Indo-Russian joint venture has been facing opposition from locals on safety concerns even as the anti-nuclear protests crossed the 1000-day mark recently.
