Three injured after train derails on Konkan Railway route - Times of India

MUMBAI: Three persons are reported to be injured after Diva-Sawantwadi passenger train derailed on Konkan Railway (KR) route on Sunday morning.

Officials said the train derailed between Nagothane and Roha stations.


The derailment will also affect the train services on Konkan Railway route today. Several families are out on summer holidays and they will be badly hit as most trains are likely to be rescheduled this afternoon and evening, sources said. These include trains departing for Goa.


Officials said that a team of engineers have reached the site and they are ascertaining the cause of the derailment.


The injured were rushed to local hospitals while the railway officials were busy making arrangements for passengers who were stranded, sources said.


The derailment happened around 9.30am and it affected the long-distance trains travelling in the morning on the KR route.
